Hi, I am Agam Sachdeva, currently pursuing a B.A. Programme with a major in Psychology and a minor in Philosophy. My internship with Abhinandan Educational & Welfare Society at the AbhiKIDS CARE Centre, Nizamuddin, has been a truly enriching and eye-opening experience.
The centre is deeply child-centric, where every activity is thoughtfully designed to nurture children’s motor skills, curiosity and overall development in a safe, joyful and inclusive environment. Working closely with children helped me understand learning from their perspective, something no classroom can fully teach.

Equally impactful were my interactions with parents. Listening to their daily struggles, hopes, and aspirations for their children highlighted the critical role of community involvement in creating meaningful and sustainable educational experiences.
This internship went far beyond academic learning. It exposed me to diverse social realities across India, challenged my assumptions and helped me develop deeper empathy and social awareness. I came to realise that Nizamuddin is not an underdeveloped space but a community rich in culture, resilience and strong social bonds that navigate challenges largely shaped by resource constraints and systemic gaps.

Overall, my time with Abhinandan significantly broadened my understanding of education, community engagement and social responsibility, making it a memorable and transformative part of my learning journey.
Grateful to be part of an organisation that truly believes in education with empathy and impact.
