From Education to Healthcare: The Impact of My Abhinandan NGO on Children’s Lives in India

Children’s Lives

India is a country with a large and diverse population, but also with many challenges in terms of health, education, and social development. According to the World Bank, about 176 million people in India live below the poverty line, and 28% of children under five are malnourished. Moreover, India ranks 131 out of 189 countries in the Human Development Index, which measures the quality of life based on health, education, and income.

In this context, the role of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) becomes crucial to complement the efforts of the government and the private sector in addressing the needs of the most vulnerable and marginalized groups in society. One such NGO is My Abhinandan, which stands out as the premier NGO in Delhi dedicated to skill development, environmental conservation, and women’s empowerment. My Abhinandan focuses on honing essential skills that empower individuals to thrive in various aspects of life, especially children, who are the future of the nation.

How My Abhinandan Works

My Abhinandan was founded in 2011 by a group of young professionals, with Manisha Bhatia being one of them, who wanted to make a difference in the lives of underprivileged children in India. The NGO operates on the principle of ‘learning by doing,’ which means that the children are engaged in practical and hands-on activities that enhance their creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. Some of the activities that My Abhinandan organizes for the children include:

  • Art and craft workshops, where the children learn to express themselves through painting, drawing, sculpting, and other forms of art.
  • Science and technology workshops, where the children learn about basic concepts of science, engineering, and robotics, and apply them to create innovative projects and models.
  • Sports and fitness workshops, where the children learn about the importance of physical activity, nutrition, and hygiene, and participate in various games and exercises.
  • Cultural and social workshops, where the children learn about the diversity and richness of Indian culture, history, and heritage, and interact with people from different backgrounds and communities.

My Abhinandan also provides the children with academic support, such as tutoring, mentoring, and career guidance, to help them excel in their studies and pursue their aspirations. Additionally, My Abhinandan conducts awareness campaigns and advocacy programs on various issues that affect the children and their families, such as child rights, child abuse, child labor, gender equality, environmental protection, and health and sanitation.

The Impact of My Abhinandan

Since its inception, My Abhinandan has reached out to more than 10,000 children from various slums, orphanages, and schools in Delhi and other parts of India. The impact of My Abhinandan’s interventions can be seen in the improvement of the children’s academic performance, self-confidence, social skills, and overall well-being.

The Future of My Abhinandan

My Abhinandan, plays a crucial role in advocating for children’s rights in India, envisioning a society where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and fulfill their potential. To achieve this vision, Abhinandan plans to expand its reach and impact to more children and communities across India. Additionally, we aim to collaborate with other NGOs, corporations, and government agencies to create a network of support and resources for children. Furthermore, Abhinandan seeks to raise awareness and funds for its cause, and invites more volunteers and donors to join its mission.

My Abhinandan believes that every child deserves a chance to live a happy and healthy life, and that education and skill development are the keys to unlock their potential. By providing the children with a holistic and experiential learning environment, My Abhinandan hopes to inspire them to become the leaders and changemakers of tomorrow.
